Rebecca graduated from Bucknell University in 2006 with bachelor’s degrees in Art (Printmaking), Art History and English (Creative Writing). She received her MFA in 2009 from the Michener Center for Writers at the University of Texas at Austin, where she studied poetry, playwriting, and minored in Norwegian translation. Rebecca is currently a doctoral candidate in literature and creative writing at the University of Houston, where she works as the managing editor of Gulf Coast: A Journal of Literature and Fine Arts. She also teaches poetry to elementary school students in the Third Ward with Writers in the Schools.

  1. I absolutely love this poem a day idea. I get so excited every morning to see what poet and what poem will be featured. 🙂 The L4 journal is so pretty and it was great to read Rebecca’s poem there.

  2. Awesome, Rebecca. Vibrant imagery. I will have to read it another 20 times before I really start to comprehend it all and react. That’s a good thing, by the way, right? Complexity. Varying levels of meaning. Objects pulled from different places a put in words in front of an audience. Paula Buck was really good at piecing together words like this.
