National Poetry Month Day 5: “Petoskey” by Jodie (Eash) Dello Stritto ’95

Petoskey

Hidden in the rock of our affection
are little secret stars.
We count on the rain
to uncover them.

Released, they fly
like summertime insects,
and I count on the wind
to blow them to you.
